Following an unfortunate crab fishing accident, a Pomeroon farmer hailing from Dredge Creek Village is now dead.
Reports are that Deonarine, 53, (only name given) left his residence on August 3, 2016, at 07:00h with the intention of catching crab at Somerset and Berks.
This newspaper was told that at about 14:00h, he returned home, expressing to his wife that he felt unwell.
She advised him to go to Suddie Public Hospital. He did and was admitted but died sometime after.
A post-mortem conducted on August 11 by Dr Nehaul Singh revealed that the cause of death was poisoning caused by a snake bite.
