Eccles man charged for possession of narcotics

A resident of Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was on Tuesday brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan charged with being in possession of cocaine.
Leron Coates, 39, of 930 Eccles New Housing Scheme, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on October 15, 2016 at 930 Eccles New Housing Scheme, Coates was found to be in possession of cocaine.
According to the facts of the matter, Police carried out a search on the defendant’s premises, where the cocaine was found concealed in a ziplock bag.
As such, the man was arrested and charged with the offence.
He was granted 0,000 bail and would return to court on November 7, 2016.
