Seven football clubs will battle for spots in the upcoming season of the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Elite League, the federation has announced.
Following the conclusion of the East Bank Football Association’s (EBFA) qualifying tournament at the weekend, the GFF has conducted the official draw for the 2026 Elite League Qualification Playoff, which is set to get underway on Saturday, June 13.
The seven-team tournament will be conducted in a single-elimination knock-out format, resulting in one team securing a bye to the virtual semi-final.
The upcoming competition will determine which club earns direct qualification to the 2026/2027 Elite League season and also offer a chance to the second-place finisher to challenge ninth place Fruta Conquerors (after the 2025 season) for their spot in the league.

Participating clubs include Bartica Football Association’s Potaro Strikers Football Club (FC), Berbice Football Association’s Paradise Invaders FC, East Demerara Football Association’s Mahaica Determinators FC, Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association’s Queenstown FC, Georgetown Football Association’s Camptown FC, West Demerara Football Association’s Beavers FC and East Bank Football Association’s Timehri United FC.
Under the tournament regulations, each participating team is permitted to register a squad of up to 25 players and five officials for the duration of the competition. Team registration will close on Friday, June 5, 2026.
According to the GFF, the Elite League Qualification Playoff forms an important part of the Federation’s competition structure, providing clubs from member associations across Guyana with a pathway to compete at the highest level of domestic football.
