Following the official launch of the Youth Ensemble Programme over the weekend, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) distributed equipment and operational support to the nine regional associations in preparation for the upcoming U13, U15 and U17 Boys’ Championships, a missive from the Federation recently divulged.
The materials distributed included footballs, bibs and refereeing equipment such as jerseys, flags, cards and whistles, all aimed at ensuring the smooth and professional execution of the competitions across the respective regions. In addition, the GFF will provide financial contributions to assist with ground rentals, payment of medical personnel and coordinators, refreshments, and other match-day operational and logistical requirements.

The initiative forms part of the Federation’s wider commitment to strengthening youth football competition structures within the regional associations and ensuring that young players across Guyana are provided with the resources and opportunities needed to develop and compete at a high standard. Over the next four years, the programme is expected to target approximately 130 clubs and directly impact more than 3000 boys across multiple age categories.
The President of the Guyana Football Federation, Wayne Forde, applauded the commitment shown by the regional associations and expressed gratitude for their continued dedication to the development of youth football nationwide.
“I want to thank the regional associations for their hard work, commitment and unwavering support as we continue to build stronger foundations for youth football across Guyana. Your efforts are critical to the successful implementation of the Youth Ensemble Programme and to creating meaningful opportunities for our young players,” Forde stated.
The Youth Ensemble Programme continues to represent one of the most significant investments in the future of football development in Guyana, with a strategic focus on expanding structured competitions, improving player development pathways and strengthening the overall football ecosystem.
