Essequibians reign at Bath Settlement Grasstrack

Kenrick Spellen riding under the banner of R & Ganesh Mining Enterprise took the Champion rider of the day with 60 points in a keenly contested second round of the 2017 Grasstrack National championship held on April 30 at Bath Settlement West Coast Berbice.
Spellen was followed closely by Junior Dasilva with 50 points and Stephen Nobrega 30.

Coordinator for the races, Ravindra Dallip said that Essequibo was well represented by the Spellen’s brother in Bath Settlement. He said that another rider Fiyaz Kassim unfortunately did not take to the starting line due to the inclement weather hinting that more dominance was possible.
Dalip said that in the Novice races, Essequibo copped two second place finishes and one third while in the professional races they secured one first place finish, two second place finishes and one third. They were duly awarded trophies.
Dalip said that he was impressed with the support given by Berbicians during the races and said that R and G mining Enterprise have pledged their support in boosting grass track.
Other races of similar nature will be organized throughout Guyana where the champion will compete. Presently at Middlesex Dalip said a grasstrack ground is being developed to promote the game.
The Spellen brothers were proudly sponsored by Ramanand Ganesh Mining Enterprise and the riders expressed their gratitude towards the mining company for the support. Kennard Spellen rode a RM 125 Dirt bike in the Pro race and Kenrick Spellen handled a Yamaha, YNZ 125 dirt bike in the novice races.
