The lifeless body of a 27-year-old man was on Friday morning pulled from a trench in front of his home where he went to take a bath on Thursday evening. The dead man has been identified as Lennox Ballieram of Abram’s Zuil, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Based on reports received, the now dead man left his home at about 20:00h on Thursday to take a bath at a trench in front of his house but after some time had elapsed and he did not return home, his mother sent his brother to check on him but he was not seen.
However, at about 06:30h on Friday, the now dead man’s brother went back to the location to check and it was then he saw a towel lying next to the trench.
As such, he thought something was amiss and went into the water to look for his brother. After several minutes in the trench, he reportedly found his brother’s submerged body.
He raised an alarm and with the assistance of villagers, the body was pulled and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem. The matter was reported and the Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The Police did not say if the man’s body bore any marks of violence.
