…Mohamed’s century highlights day of play

Everest Masters

Winning the toss and batting first, Everest Masters posted a behemoth total of 245/2 in their allotted 25 overs. Like a one-man army, Saheed Mohamed smashed five boundaries and eight maximums in his innings of 101, before retiring hurt.
To add insult to injury, Hemraj Garbarran and Sahadeo Hardaiow blasted quick-fire scores of 47 and 45 runs respectively, while Guyanese cricketing legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul capped the innings with a quick-fire 45 that included 3 boundaries and 4 maximums. Krishna Singh and Safraz Baksh each took a wicket for Belle Vue.

Saheed Mohamed scored a brilliant century

Needing 246 for a win, or at least 10 runs per over, the Belle Vue side succumbed to pressure and were dismissed for a paltry 127 in 23 overs.
The only batsmen to make any significant contribution were Ajula Bowman with 31 (4×4 1×6), Davendra Narine with 26 (3×4) and Krishna Singh with 17.
Bowling for the Masters, Basil Persaud took 4 for 7 from 5 overs, Saheed Mohamed took 3 for 12 from 4 overs, and Rajesh Singh and Besham Singh each took a wicket.
Saheed Mohamed was adjudged ‘man of the match’.
The winner’s trophy was sponsored by the Rockaway Group of New York, while the ‘man of the match’ trophy was sponsored by Trophy Stall.
