“We also want to create a platform on which they are better able to do a better level of networking, become better informed of the opportunities that exist locally and internationally,” Doerga said.
The businessman and School of the Nations’ Lecturer is also looking to strengthen relations between the GCCI and other chambers around the country to see how they can collaborate and tap into the vast knowledge, expertise and resources of the GCCI.
“As a chamber that has been in existence for 127 years with significant amount of history, resources and intelligence, the amount of information that we receive, the amount of data that we receive that we are able to turn into credible intelligence can be of significant benefit to them. So we really want to strengthen those relationships and provide the support that they may require,” he stated.
Doerga is also aiming to make the GCCI a local hub for Private Sector development in Guyana, working through international agencies including agencies like the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
“The major focus of our plan … [is] better serving our membership and Private Sector development in Guyana in general,” he stated.
