Ann’s Grove and Den Amstel football clubs on Sunday clinched their first victories in the fiercely contested Guyana Football Federation KFC Elite League Cup, being played at the Police Sports Club Ground at Eve Leary in Kingston, Georgetown.
On the opening night of the tournament – Sunday, October 15 – Ann’s Grove dominated the match against Victoria Kings by securing a convincing 2-0 victory in a clash between two prominent East Coast Demerara teams.
The two spectacular goals of the game were scored in the 34th and 70th minutes by Courtney Odean and Clive Andries respectively. And with their resilient defence, Ann’s Grove successfully nullified several close attempts by Victoria Kings, thereby preventing them from finding the back of the net.
