GFF U-13 Youth Ensemble-VMFA crowned GFF Under-13 champions after dominant final

Vurlon Mills Football Academy (VMFA) were crowned champions of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)’s Under-13 National Youth Ensemble Playoffs after recording a commanding 3–0 victory over YMCA in Saturday’s final at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Dean Vancooten, Dontay Kowlessar and Nash Moe each found the back of the net as VMFA delivered a strong all-round performance to secure the title.
The champions controlled the decisive contest and converted their opportunities to finish the national playoffs on a winning note. YMCA were unable to breach the VMFA defence, but ended the competition as runners-up following their journey to the final.
Earlier, Potaro Strikers Football Club (FC) defeated Plaisance FC 3–0 on penalties to claim third place after their playoff ended 1–1 in regulation time.

Anthwon Robinson gave Plaisance the lead in the 38th minute before Kriston Chandler equalised for Potaro Strikers three minutes later, sending the match to a penalty shootout.
Chandler was again successful from the spot, while Aaron Christian and Shemia Hing also converted their penalties to seal a flawless shootout victory for Potaro Strikers.
The two matches brought the GFF Under-13 National Youth Ensemble Playoffs to a close at the federation’s Providence facility.
The U15 section of the competition will culminate today at the same venue, with VMFA’s U15 team looking to make it a double national haul when they face Buxton Stars FC in the championship match.
