Gonsalves leads Ogle into Elizabeth Styles 40-over final
Troy Gonsalves stoked a compact 44 to help Ogle Builders Lumber Yard beat Better Hope by six wickets in a rain-affected match and secure a place in the final of the Elizabeth Styles 40-over cricket tournament.
Playing at the Ogle ground on Sunday, Better Hope batted first and made 160 all out in 39.4 overs with Roy Persaud (40) and Ravin Singh (33) being the principle scorers. Anand Persaud 4-31 from eight overs and D. Ramtahal 3-25 were the main wicket takers for the home team.
When Ogle batted their overs were reduced to 33 but that did not stop Gonsalves from playing an array of shots in his stylish innings; skipper Gavin Singh chipped in with 19.
Ogle will now face up against the winner of Better Hope A and Strathaven.
