Gun, ammo found in car intercepted by Police in NA
The driver and five occupants of a motor car were in the wee hours of Sunday detained after an unlicensed .38 revolver and two live rounds of ammunition were found under the driver’s seat.
Based on reports received, ranks of a mobile Police patrol intercepted the white Canina 212 motor car about 02:00h along Main Street, New Amsterdam and conducted a search.
It was during the search the unlicensed firearm and ammunition were discovered.
As a result, the driver, a 35-year-old construction worker of Stanleytown, NA, along with a 20-year-old female nurse of Angoy’s Avenue; a 17-year-old female, also of Angoy’s Avenue; a 23-year-old sanitation worker of Stanleytown; a 25-year-old carpenter also of Stanleytown, and a 26-year-old male of Nicolay Street, NA Berbice were taken into custody.
The Police have since seized the firearm and ammunition as investigations continue.
