A three and a half hour cordon and search exercise executed by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Tuesday morning in Plum Park, Sophia, and Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, led to the discovery of several items suspected to have been unlawfully obtained.
Police stated that the search was conducted between 04:30h and 08:00h.
During the exercise, 848 grams of ganja, one .38 special revolver, two XR and two Haojue motorcycles, one 65” TCL television set, two laptop computers, a quantity of electrical and non-electrical tools, one pressure washer, one weeding machine, one motorcycle number plate, a JPS1 trade plate, $395,000 in cash and a quantity of gold jewellery were found.
As a result of the discovery, several persons were arrested and are assisting with investigations.
