Gunman ID’d as suspect in BM Soat shooting

One of the three men nabbed on Monday after a high-speed chase with Police, was positively identified as one of the bandits who shot and robbed BM Soat Auto Dealer, Rameez Mohamed.
This was confirmed by A Division (Georgetown-East Bank Demerara) Commander, Clifton Hicken, who told Guyana Times that investigations are ongoing and assured that more information will be revealed today.

In late October, 28-year-old Mohamed was exiting the establishment on Croal Street, Georgetown, when two men rode up on a motorcycle and shot him to the left leg. The perpetrators then escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash.
Mohamed was taken to a private hospital in the city, while the Police launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, on Monday, after almost an hour of chasing a suspicious car with fake registration plates, the Police took three men, including an ex-Guyana Police Force (GPF) officer, into custody.
Two of the men were identified as Eloy Livan, 28, of Lot 47 Richards Town, Lusignan, East Coast Demerara; and Devon Chase, 30, of Hill Street, Albouystown. The third suspect refused to cooperate with Police.
A 9mm pistol and 10 live rounds of ammunition were also found in the vehicle.
However, it is still uncertain whether the third suspect was identified and whether the perpetrator in the BM Soat shooting was among those identified.
