Guyana Police Force’s Gymkhana kicks off with a bang

The Police Sports Club Ground at Eve Leary on Sunday became the hub of entertainment as the Guyana Police Force (GPF) commenced “Gymkhana 2022” after a two-year hiatus owing to COVID-19.
The ground was buzzing with scores of people from all walks of life waiting to be dazzled by the daring stunts and thrilling activities put together and performed by members of the Force.
The activities include plaiting of the maypole, obedience drill and scent work by the canine section, dances, acrobatics, musical chairs, greasy pig, dirt bike display, and agility. On the more competitive side, there were a late-for-work race, an egg-and-spoon race, bun-eating competition and the equestrian event, among other exciting activities.
Spectators were able to participate in the egg-and-spoon race, bun-eating competition, and catching of the greased pig with cash prizes awarded to the winners. To keep patrons entertained, added attractions such as pony rides, trampoline, and bouncy castles were also available. (MOHA)
