Tertiary/University Basketball League: Week 4 brings the heat as UG, NATI record wins

The action continued in the fourth round of the Youth Basketball Guyana Tertiary/University Basketball League, which saw the University of Guyana and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) record easy wins.

UG picked up their second win from three games with a drubbing of the inexperienced Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC) team 102 points to 33 points. Shaquan Gill led all scorers with a game-high 42 points and 8 steals. Graig Harlequin chipped in with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. Hailie Caesar contributed 12 points to UG’s total. The top man for PMTC was Angelino Ramdial with 16 points; Shaquan Lucas had seven points and 10 rebounds.
In the second game, New Amsterdam Technical Institute dominated a good Guyana School of Agriculture team 108 points to 68 points. Kadeem Dover, the former Kwakwani all-star, put up a career-high 43 points (which included seven three-pointers). Captain Charles Williams continues to have an outstanding tournament with his third double-double from as many games – 21 points and 15 rebounds. Contributing to the win also were L Simon 16 points and 11 rebounds and Qwesi Joseph with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The final round of robin games will be played next Sunday, May 15 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall starting at 14:00h.
