Playing at the National Training Centre (NTC), GDF defeated Ann’s Grove United 3-0 in the opening match of the double-header, while Police overcame Camptown FC 3-1 in the night’s second encounter.
GDF made an early breakthrough against Ann’s Grove, with Steffon Ramsay finding the back of the net in the 10th minute to hand his side the advantage.
Abumchi Opara doubled the lead in the 25th minute, putting the soldiers firmly in control of proceedings before the halftime break.
Ann’s Grove were unable to find a response in the second half, and Colwyn Adams completed the scoring three minutes into stoppage time (90+3’) to seal the 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Police produced an impressive first-half attacking display to secure all three points against Camptown.
Nicholas McArthur opened the scoring in the 35th minute before Ryan Hackett doubled the advantage four minutes later, giving Police a 2-0 lead.
Camptown briefly reduced the deficit through Shane Jones in the 45th minute, but Police restored their two-goal cushion shortly afterwards when Marcus Wilson struck in first-half stoppage time (45+3’).
The 3-1 scoreline remained unchanged throughout the second half as Police completed a winning return to league action.
The two results marked the resumption of the Elite League following the international break, with both GDF and Police collecting maximum points from their respective fixtures.
