Former Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club players Shalindra Shameer and Kumar Joseph were instrumental in Jersey City’s T20 championship win over the last weekend at Cedar Brook.

Jersey City won by five wickets against Blitz Cricket Club in the Garden State Cricket League Division Two tournament.
Taking first strike, Blitz Cricket Club had scored 98 all out when 20 overs expired. The off-spinner Joseph was his economical best with figures of 2-11 in four top overs. He was well-supported by Ricky Narain and Shameer, his former Rose Hall Town teammate and former Guyana Under-19 player, who grabbed 1-16. In the chase, these same three players returned to dominate with the bat.
Opening the batting, Joseph scored a shot-filled 24, which included five fours. He shared a 44-run second wicket partnership with Narain, who scored 27 runs, which were decorated with three boundaries. Shameer, batting at number four, added the finishing touches in the chase, with a powerful 21, which included two maximums. The trio ensured Jersey City clinched the T20 title, achieving the target in 18.1 overs, to win by five wickets. Kevin Singh had 2-11 for Blitz Cricket Club.
