Guyanese, Cuban travel companies partner to boost tourism
As part of an initiative to enhance intra-regional cooperation in the Caribbean, Guyanese and Cuban travel companies have entered into a number Memoranda of Understanding to formally embark in alliances for the future growth of tourism.
Global Tours and Travel (GlobalTT), a journey and destination management company that is headquartered in Georgetown, has been holding several meetings with major tourism stakeholders in the Republic of Cuba.
Cubatur Agencia de Viajes, Havanatur SA, Paradiso, the Cubanacan Group and Grupo de Turismo Gaviota has formally entered into agreements to allow GlobalTT to offer special business and leisure travel packages and options to Guyanese and businesspersons seeking to visit Cuba.

Currently in Cuba is Director of Caribbean Leisure Travel for GlobalTT, Pedro Pablo Martínez Azcuy, who has been representing the company in its bilateral discussions and negotiations with the Cuban companies for the promotion of “Destination Cuba” in Guyana.
“Connectivity, promotions, multi destination packages and deeper cooperation between Guyana and the Cuba tourism entities featured predominantly during their discussions,” a press release indicated.
Global Tours and Travel has also formed a strategic partnership with Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) which allows for seamless and convenient air connectivity between Guyana and Cuba and other Caribbean territories. The affiliation between these companies with their multi-destination plans are all a part of the push to align the tourist sector with regional integration and development.
On a mission to make Caribbean vacations more appealing to Guyanese travellers and expatriates who live and work in Guyana, GlobalTT will be offering special multi destination vacation packages to Cuba in combination with other Caribbean ports of call including St Lucia, Barbados and Jamaica.
The packaged tours and all-inclusive vacations will be complete end-to-end travel solutions including airfares, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, auto rentals, tours and access to executive airport lounges, and will cater to solo travel, adventure tourism, romantic holidays, educational trips, health tourism and group tours.
