Dead: Conrad Gittens

The body which was later revealed to be that of Gittens, was stabbed multiple times and Police believe his body was dumped after being murdered elsewhere.

Speaking to media operatives in Trinidad, estranged wife of the deceased, Nicole Gittens, relayed that her husband was ‘bar hopping’ with friends on Friday night. She went on to say that the overseas-based Guyanese was last seen alive when he was with another woman at around 06:00h on Saturday morning.

The woman was subsequently greeted by homicide officers who were conducting investigations into the death of Gittens, during which they showed her pictures of her now dead husband to confirm his identity.

The mother of Gittens’ four children indicated that although they were estranged, she is aggrieved by the news of the death of the father of her children.

The mother of four at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, pointed out that her late husband “was a mason and an all-rounder. If anyone ask for help he would do it, he never look for trouble or bacchanal with anyone. Yes, he used to drink and he would tell me nobody buys drinks for him, so nobody could tell him to stop.”

Relatives of the deceased residing in Guyana have been made aware of the incident and are mourning the loss of a loved one.

While Police Officers are yet to determine who murdered Gittens, an investigation has been launched in Trinidad.
