Guyanese Nicholas Chinkoo stars for Meten-Meer-Zorg in USA

Commonwealth Cricket League…

Former Guyana Under-19 player Nicholas Chinkoo recorded an all-round “player of the match” effort to lead Meten- Meer-Zorg Cricket Club (MMZ) to a 28-run win against Royal Knights in the Commonwealth Cricket League over the last weekend.

Matthew Lutchena and Nicholas Chinkoo completed the job for MMZ

Batting at number three, Chinkoo hit a top-score of 33, and returned with the ball to claim 2-9 in four top overs that included one maiden.
Batting first, MMZ scored 120-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Guyana Under-19 opener Alex Algoo fell for three, and Azurdeen Mohammed for five. Chinkoo and Breston Reid, however, added 42 runs together, which proved vital in the end. In Chinkoo’s innings of 33, which spanned 16 balls, he smacked seven fours, while Reid played the supportive role, scoring a 22-ball 20.
Royal Knights’ bowling was disciplined, with Sameer Satyam claiming 2-22 in three overs, while Dipty Singh, Mushahid Tahir, Qasim Javed, Azim Safi and Saqib Saeed had one wicket each.
Royal Knights, in response, were bundled out for 92 in 17.2 overs. Matthew Lutchena had magical figures of 5-26 in his four overs, while Chinkoo, who played for Guyana Under-19 in 2016, had 2-9.
Kevin Shewprasad, Mohammed and Ricky Kissoon each had one wicket in a dominant MMZ bowling effort.
