Guyanese trio departs for West Indies Under-15 tour today

Mavindra Dindyal, Isai Thorne and Rampertab Ramnauth will depart Guyana today, Sunday August 4, 2019, to participate in the West Indies tour to England.
This Under-15 West Indies squad will play a total of eight matches between August 8 and August 18. Dindyal is an experienced campaigner at this level, and this will be his second outing in England representing the West Indies Under-15 team.

The right-handed batsman who hails from East Bank Demerara also plays as a wicket-keeper
He will be partnered by the two Berbicians, Ramnauth and Thorne. Ramnauth, who plays for Port Mourant Community Centre Cricket Club, has also shown great promise in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Under-19 tournament, where he scored many runs, along with Dindyal.
Meanwhile, Rose Hall Canje’s very own, Thorne, is a fearsome fast bowler who stands at a great height and extracts bounce from the wickets. He was also captain of the Berbice Under-15 team during the 2019 Inter-County Under-15 tournament.
The CWI selection panel, comprising all of the head coaches of the teams that participated in 2019 West Indies Under-15 Championship, as well as CWI high performance coach Graeme West, has recommended that left-arm spinners Andrew Rambarran and Nathan Sealy be appointed co-captains for the tour to England.
This is the fourth straight year that CWI has invested in sending an Under-15 side to England to play in the Barmy Army-sponsored series.
The squad will, on the trip, play a series of matches against local opposition, culminating in a match against England’s Barmy Army Under-15 Colts on the 18th August.
