The opening round of the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) Youth Ensemble Under-15 tournament kicked off in exciting fashion on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Victoria Ground, with fans treated to a thrilling display of youth football talent.
In the tournament’s opening match, home side Victoria Kings FC battled to a 1-1 draw with Haslington FC in a closely-contested encounter. Jayden Adams found the back of the net for Haslington, while Brandon Glasgow responded for Victoria Kings to ensure both teams shared the points.

Game two saw a dominant performance from Buxton All Stars, who defeated Mahaica Determinators FC 4-1. Joel Stephen led the charge with a clinical hat-trick, while Malachi Jarvis added another to seal the victory. Nathan Daw scored the lone goal for Mahaica Determinators in an effort to keep his side in contention.
Ann’s Grove United FC delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the day, brushing aside Plaisance Football Club 5-0 in game three. Quashaun Campbell was in scintillating form, netting four goals, while Ronoko Morris added one to complete the rout.
In game four, Melanie Football Club edged Golden Stars Football Club 1-0 in a tightly-fought contest. LeBron Semple proved to be the difference-maker, scoring the lone goal to secure all three points for Melanie.

The final match of the day featured an impressive showing from Beterverwagting-Triumph, who defeated Mahaicony Western Lions 4-1. Devon Williams opened the scoring, Deon Benn struck twice, and Eric Nero added another to complete the tally. Colwin Thomas scored the consolation goal for Mahaicony Western Lions.
The opening round sets the stage for what promises to be a competitive and entertaining Youth Ensemble Under-15 tournament, as emerging talents across the East Coast continue to showcase their skills and passion for the game.
