Japanese cultural heritage takes centre stage at Fumacon 2026

The Embassy of Japan in collaboration with Hachidori Kai (Japanese Ladies Association of Trinidad and Tobago) over the weekend hosted a series of Japanese cultural workshops and demonstrations during Guyana’s Fumacon 2026, at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, Georgetown. The two-day workshops welcomed approximately 400 attendees, who were invited to experience traditional Japanese culture through interactive workshops and demonstrations featuring Japanese Tea Ceremony Origami, Calligraphy and Yukata Dressing. Many expressed great enthusiasms, enjoying hands-on experiences and gaining a deeper appreciation for Japanese traditions. The Embassy of Japan extends its sincere appreciation to Hachidori Kai for their invaluable support and expertise in facilitating the cultural workshops and demonstrations, and to Seishonen Guyana for the opportunity to participate in Fumacon 2026.
