The Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycling Club (KARCC) is set to host its highly anticipated KARGC Fireworks cycling race, featuring a $1,000,000 prize purse, on Sunday, October 25, at the Seawall Bandstand.

Action is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with cyclists from several categories expected to compete in an event designed to showcase speed, endurance and competitive racing
Billed as “The Kaieteur Challenge,” the event will feature four race groups, ranging from younger and developing riders to elite competitors, masters and participants in the open race. The organisers have outlined separate race distances to accommodate the different categories.
Group One will feature Category Four cyclists, Masters 50-plus riders and female competitors, who will race over 15 laps. Group Two will comprise elite cyclists, juniors and Masters 35-plus riders, also competing over 15 laps. Group Three will include BMX riders, novices and social media personalities, with a shorter race of one to two laps. The programme will conclude with Group Four’s open race, which is scheduled for 20 laps.
The race will begin and end at the Seawall Bandstand, which will serve as the start and finish line. From there, cyclists will head west along the Seawall Public Road towards the marine turtle monument before turning left onto Young Street. They will then travel east towards Camp Street and Carifesta Avenue before making a left turn onto Camp Street, heading north towards the Seawall Public Road. Riders will make a final left turn onto the Seawall Public Road to return to the starting point and complete the circuit.
With its combination of multiple categories and a substantial prize purse, the KARGC Fireworks event is expected to provide an exciting afternoon of cycling for competitors and spectators alike. The inclusion of BMX riders, novices and social media personalities alongside established racing categories also offers opportunities for a wider range of participants to take part in the programme.
The event is sponsored by Star Party Rentals, Guyoil, Gaico, WBG, Enet, Riaz Computer, VNET, Beacon Cafe and VGI. Their support will contribute to the staging of the race as KARGC continues its efforts to promote competitive cycling and provide a platform for riders across different experience levels.
Cycling enthusiasts are invited to gather at the Seawall Bandstand on Sunday, October 25, for the 1 p.m. start of the KARGC Fireworks race and to witness the competitors battle for honours in the Kaieteur Challenge.
