The Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) will fly the Golden Arrowhead in French Guiana this weekend, with three of its cyclists set to compete in two Grand Prix events in Saint-Laurent du Maroni.
National Sports Commission Three-Stage winner Ajani Cutting, Kwame “Key Man” Ridley and Andre “Padlock” Greene will represent the Guyanese club in races on Saturday and Sunday. They are being accompanied by team manager Kevin Edwards.
KARCC was invited by the Vélo Club du Maroni to participate in the Grand Prix S3T/Ouest Fleurs on Saturday and the Grand Prix Sanyrapid/L.A Transports on Sunday.
According to the organisers, the two events are intended to bring together cycling teams from across French Guiana, with KARCC expected to proudly represent Guyana against the host country’s riders.
The Vélo Club du Maroni has also committed to providing full support for the visiting Guyanese contingent during its stay. This includes accommodation, meals and a vehicle with a driver for the races.
The two-day outing will give Cutting, Ridley and Greene an opportunity to test themselves in regional competition while strengthening sporting ties between cyclists from Guyana and French Guiana.
