KARCC’s Fireworks cycling event set for October 25

The Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) has confirmed that its flagship cycling event, Fireworks, will return on October 25.
The club announced the date on Monday as preparations begin for another edition of the event that has grown into one of the notable fixtures on the local cycling calendar.
Last year’s Fireworks 4 attracted a strong field of local and regional cyclists at the Kingston Seawall circuit, with riders from Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados competing across several categories.
Briton John captured the main senior race title in 2025 after producing a strong finish to beat Trinidad and Tobago’s Jadian Neaves and Liam Trepte, while Barbados’s Dominic Howard finished fourth.
Host club KARCC also enjoyed success through Ajani Cutting, who won the junior category ahead of Alex Newton and Alexander Leung. However, Cutting has aged out of the junior category and is competing in his first season as an elite cyclist and in the U23 category.

The programme also catered for Masters, Category Four and BMX riders, giving cyclists across several age groups and competitive levels an opportunity to compete.
Beyond the racing, each year’s event is staged in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Tributes are also paid to several deceased members and contributors to cycling in Guyana.
The 2025 edition drew close to 50 competitors and was supported by several corporate sponsors, while Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Steven Jacobs, was, also among those in attendance.
With the October 25 date now confirmed, KARCC is expected to release further details regarding the route, categories, prizes, and registration for this year’s event as preparation progresses.
