Legal clerk found murdered in Kuru-Kururu home

The lifeless body of 46-year-old legal clerk Gregory Frank, also called “Wayne”, was on Thursday, at about 04:30h, found lying face down in a pool of blood in the sitting room of his home at Lot 686 Kuru-Kururu, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
Based on reports received, the discovery was made by Frank’s father, who occupies another house in the same yard. The man reportedly saw the back door of his son’s house wide open, and after his several calls had gone unanswered, he went inside his son’s home to check on him.
Confronted with the sight of his son’s motionless body and the home ransacked, the elder Frank immediately raised an alarm. Upon checking further, he realised that several valuable items belonging to his son had gone missing.
Checks also revealed that the dead man’s forehead was swollen, which suggests

Dead: Gregory Frank

that he might have been struck to the head by his attackers.
The Police were summoned to the scene, and the body was removed to the Lyken’s Funeral Home to await a post mortem. The police have since dusted the scene for possible finger prints.
The sandy terrain made it difficult for Police to trace the foot prints around the house, since, after the discovery, persons from the village had run to the house.
When Guyana Times contacted a brother of the late Gregory Frank, he explained that Gregory had lived alone and did not have any children.
The grieving brother related that he had last seen his brother on Tuesday last. He added that as far as he was aware, his now dead brother did not have any enemies, and he said he was convinced that Gregory might have been killed in the commissioning of a robbery.
Although the evidence points to robbery, the Police are looking at several angles, as, in the past, there have been instances when the motive of the murder was completely different.
According to detectives, several persons in the area were questioned for any information that may lead to a breakthrough, but everyone questioned maintained that they had neither heard any unusual sounds nor seen any unusual movements.
Police investigations are nevertheless continuing .
