Lewis’s blistering 97 powers Transport to victory

Transport Cricket Club produced a commanding performance to defeat GT XI by 80 runs when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Under-17 Eline Security Logistics 50-Over competition continued over the weekend.
Transport won the toss and elected to bat, posting an imposing 265 for five from their allotted 40 overs.
The innings was anchored by a sensational knock from Emmanuel Lewis, who narrowly missed out on a century after smashing 97 from just 44 deliveries. His aggressive innings included 10 fours and seven sixes.
Opener Afraz Khan provided a solid foundation with 47 from 77 balls, including four fours, while Mario Singh contributed 28 and Mickel Johnson added 29.
Jeremiah Johnson, Roshaun Lowkashawar, Aditya Khan, and Ajay Kissoon each claimed one wicket for GT XI.

Emmanuel Lewis scored 97

Chasing 266 for victory, GT XI struggled to maintain the required scoring rate and were eventually dismissed for 185 in 39.2 overs.
Tyrell King offered the main resistance with a well-composed 62 from 75 balls, striking four fours and one six. Kissoon added 20, while Nathan Puran chipped in with 22.
Transport’s bowlers, however, kept control of the innings, with Azariah Duncan leading the attack with three wickets for 32 runs. Afraz Khan and Nyia Latchman claimed two wickets apiece to complete a convincing 80-run victory for Transport.
The result further highlighted Transport Cricket Club’s strength in the Under-17 competition, with Lewis’s explosive innings providing the standout performance of the match.
