Junior Jags go two-in-two with 4-1 victory over Anguilla

Another rampant victory was on the cards for Guyana’s national Under-14 boys’ team on Monday; this time downing Anguilla 4-1 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in their second match of the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U14 Boys’ Challenge Series.
Changes to Monday’s starting XI saw Adiel Hamilton and Malik Sobers starting in place of Teon Francis and Andrew Brown.
With the remainder of the line-up reading Captain Dylan Kendall, goalkeeper Royston Winter, Daniel Chesney, Gilbert Frank, Cavon Peters, Fabio Kowlessar, Aaron Vasconcelles, Dontay Kowlessar, and Dane Vancooten.
Kowlessar opened the scoring for Guyana in the eighth minute, converting a penalty opportunity after Vancooten was taken down in the box. A brilliant combination play set up Guyana’s second strike in the 24th minute as Peters’ pass in the box found Vasconcellos, who finished with his right foot.

However, Anguilla pulled one back in the 32nd minute as bodies in the box for a set piece created just enough chaos for Anguilla’s Jacob Fleming to slip the ball past the Guyanese keeper at the near post.
Guyana finished the half strongly though, as another Anguilla infraction handed the Guyanese team a second penalty in the 35th minute. This time, it was Vancooten who converted to put Guyana up 3-1 at halftime.
Guyana’s fourth came off the boots of Asher McIntyre in the 56th minute. Another combination play going forward saw Forde square the assist to McIntyre for a simple finish.
The Junior Jags will return to the pitch on Wednesday, August 19, taking on Bahamas in a bid to maintain their unbeaten streak and finish at the top of Group C.
