Nineteen-year-old Isaiah Green was on Thursday sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment on an armed charge and 27 months for discharging a loaded firearm with intent.

The construction worker from Linden was arrested on May 26, 2026, following a robbery committed on a 27-year-old businessman at a general store located in Tabatinga, Central Rupununi, Region Nine.
The discharging of a loaded firearm with intent to charge was in connection to an incident that occurred on the same date at Bon Success, Lethem, Central Rupununi, involving a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a Corporal, both attached to the Lethem Police Station.
Green was later arrested and charged in connection with both offences.
The matters were heard before Magistrate Nikkisha Logan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, during which the teenager pleaded guilty to the charges after the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) was applied.
As such, the Magistrate imposed the sentences, which will run concurrently.
