Lindener jailed, fined for harbouring wanted man

A South Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) man was on Monday jailed and fined for harbouring a wanted person.

Jailed: Lennox O’neil Estwick

Lennox O’neil Estwick appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court where he was found guilty of harbouring his older brother, Lennox Leon Estwick, who was wanted by Police.
The 23-year-old man along with his fugitive brother were caught by Police at Lover’s Lane, Amelia’s Ward, on April 30.
Ranks at the time arrested the older Estwick, whom a wanted bulletin had been issued for since 2019. Reports are Police, acting on intelligence, swooped down on the house at Lover’s Lane at about 00:45h on April 30 and nabbed the duo.
The younger Estwick was fined $50,000 along with a year’s imprisonment for the crime. (G13)
