Twenty-nine-year-old Twancy Langhorne was on Thursday fined $10,000 by Magistrate Annette Singh when she appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on an assault charge.
The woman, who hails from One Mile, Wismar, Linden, pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on Monday July 8, 2019 at One Mile, Wismar, she unlawfully assaulted Tomeka Fausett.
The presiding Magistrate ordered Langhorne to pay the fine or face an alternative sentence of one month in prison for the offence.
In another matter, a 21-year-old Steffon Deane was ordered to pay a fine of $7,500 by Magistrate Annette Singh on a similar matter.
Deane admitted that on Saturday July 13, 2019 he unlawfully assaulted Nivita Adams at Third Alley, Wismar, Linden. Failure to pay the fine will result in Deane spending one week in prison.
