The Essequibo leg of the Lotto/Let’sBet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast received a major financial boost as corporate partners Shawn’s Mini Mart and Jaigobin Hotel officially came on board to sponsor the bulk of the cash incentive package for the zonal leg set for August 22 and 23.
Under the new sponsorship backing, Shawn’s Mini Mart will fund the $500,000 first-place prize for the Essequibo Zone champions.
Jaigobin Hotel will sponsor the $200,000 runner-up prize, alongside $50,000 pay-outs for each of the two losing semi-finalists.
Scoop Ride Inc also maintains its tournament-wide commitment by rewarding $25,000 to each of the four losing quarter-finalists.
Highlighting the vital role of commercial partnerships in driving regional tapeball development, One Guyana T10 representative Yusuf Ali extended sincere appreciation to the tournament’s latest backers.

“The backing from Shawn’s Mini Mart and Jaigobin Hotel underscores the strong corporate faith in grassroots cricket across Essequibo,” Ali stated.
“Their generosity ensures our players compete for meaningful financial rewards while delivering top-tier entertainment to local communities. We are deeply grateful for their partnership as we continue building momentum toward the national finals.”
The regional showdown bowls off on Saturday, August 22, across four venues: Pomona, Affiance, Hampton Court, and the Anna Regina National Stadium.
Action then shifts entirely to the Anna Regina National Stadium on Sunday, August 23, for the zonal finals starting at 14:30h.
Admission is free to all venues, with organisers urging families and local fans to turn out in full force to support their respective communities.
The Essequibo victors will join earlier zonal champions Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars, who claimed the Berbice Zone title, and Mahdia (Movements Family), who prevailed in the East Bank/West Demerara Zone.
Each zonal winner earns a crucial step toward defending home turf in the grand national championship on October 11.
Following the conclusion of the Essequibo leg, the Lotto/Let’sBet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast will take a scheduled hiatus to accommodate the closing stages of the Caribbean Premier League before resuming on September 26 for the Georgetown/East Coast Demerara Zone.
