A man accused of defrauding a Georgetown resident of more than $1 million under the pretense of establishing a poultry business was on Monday taken before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. Gaslin McCoy, appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. It is alleged that between November 11 and November 19, 2025, at King Street, Lacytown, Georgetown, he, with intent to defraud obtained $1,370,000 from Ryan Wilson by falsely claiming that the money would be used to purchase poultry birds, feed and to construct a chicken coop.
While he was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge, he denied the allegation when it was put to him. According to the prosecution, the accused is a resident of Durban Street, Lodge and indicated its readiness to proceed with the matter. He was released on $75,000 bail and as part of his bail conditions, he is required to report regularly to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The case was adjourned to May 11.
