Man found dead with head injuries in Kitty

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found at Sandy Babb Street, Kitty Georgetown on Wednesday.
Based on reports received, the discovery was made at about 08:30h by a businessman, who told Police that at about 07:30h, he went into his yard and saw a male referred to as ‘Bolo’ lying motionless on his back.
Without hesitation, he said, he contacted the Police, who when they arrived on the seen started their investigations.
Preliminary investigations revealed that injuries were seen behind the now dead man’s head and on his left hand above the wrist.
The body was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, here he was pronounced dead. The body is at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting identification and post mortem.
Just over a week ago, the decomposed body of an unidentified man of African descent was found at the Kitty seawall in Georgetown.
Police reported that at about 17:00h on the day in question, ranks of the Kitty Police Station received a report that a decomposed body was sighted at the Kitty seawall. As such, ranks and detectives from CID Headquarters travelled to the scene, where they discovered the body – suspected to be a vagrant – lying on his right side in a decomposed state.
No marks of violence were seen on the body, and the official pronouncement of death was done by a doctor at the scene before the body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await identification and post-mortem.
