The victorious United All-Stars after their victory over Everest Masters last Thursday

In the feature 25 overs a-side match, United All Stars took first knock and slogged their way to 226 for 6 with Vivian Gooniah hitting eight big sixes and two fours in 76 to really knock the wind out of the Everest Masters’ sail in good conditions. Devin Baldeo weighed in with 57 runs (3×4’s; 1×6) and Munesh Lalu made 49 (6×4’s; 2×6’s) to take the score past the 200-run mark.
Rakesh Gangaram claimed 2 for 35 while Imtiaz Sadik was expensive in picking up 2 for 51 for the home team who replied with 188 for 8 off their 25 overs. Only Shaheed Mohamed with a fighting half century of 52 (2×4’s; 4×6’s) showed determination but got little support from the rest of the Everest line up who fell short in the run chase by 38 runs.
Nandkishore Phanisnaraine picked up 3 for 38 for the victors but it was the pugnacious Vivian Gooniah who copped the Man of the match award.
Everest Masters presented the visiting United All Star team with a plaque in recognition of their visit to Camp road and Carifesta avenue club.
The trophies for the game and the plaque were donated by Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall n Bourda Market.
The Everest Masters next game is against a Touring UK team billed for Friday November 10 at Everest.
