Home News Minibus operator, carpenter granted $30,000 bail each on assault charges
Thirty-nine-year-old Nigel Douglas of 171 Unity Street, La Grange, West Bank Demerara (WBD), and Sherlock Yaw, 30, of 284 Schoonord, WBD, were both released on $30,000 bail for assault charges.
The duo appeared before Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool on Friday at the Wales Magistrate’s Court.
Yaw, a carpenter and mason, was arraigned on the charge that he unlawfully wounded Douglas at Parfait Harmonie, WBD, on March 9, 2018.
Douglas was accused of assaulting Yaw, causing him actual bodily harm on the day in question. Both men denied the charges and were both granted their pre-trial liberty. They were unrepresented by legal counsel.
The matter continues May 31, 2018 for reports and fixtures.
