The National Milling Company of Guyana (NAMILCO) forged a partnership with the Guyana

Football Federation (GFF) to run of the country’s most prolonged national youth league and one parent by the name of Nicola Young firmly believes it is a great investment for the youths.

“I think NAMILCO has made a good move in the sense that they have caught on to that idea and the vision that youths are important and if we invest in them, at some point in the future we will not only have a better national team that we have now but also a set a of young people that are more skilled and can represent the county at any level”.

The League which will be played on a yearlong basis spans throughout the various football associations and the mother who is in full support of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) team Order & Discipline revealed that usually takes time out to watch her son play football.

Young also posited that “it [the matches] is an opportunity to see some local football and the young men that are now developing and probably one day represent us, providing they continue in the sport and acquire the right skill sets”.

The Milling Company has been in existence since 1969 and produces several heath oriented products such as Maid Marian Harvest High Fibre Whole Wheat Flour, Maid Marian Wheat-Up Breakfast Porridge, and Maid Marian Multigrain Flour among many other products.

Matches are being played on weekends in the various community grounds and admission is free to the venues.
