The National Under-15 team departed on Monday for Cricket West Indies’ regional 50-over tournament which commences on Wednesday in Jamaica.
The 14 man team which is being coached by the Level 3 accredited Winston Smith and Managed by Latchman Yadram will have their first match against Windward Islands.
The squad comes from Zeynul Ramsammy ( Captain) , Jonathan Rampersaud (Vice Captain), Mahendra Gopilall, Nicholas Rajpat, Mavendra Dindyal, Shamar Yearwood, Chanderpaul Ramraj, Romel Datterdeen, Jeremey Sandia, Zachary Jodah, Safeik Khan, Tomanni Caesar, Isai Thorne and Ajay Gainda.
Players benefitted from exposure in the Guyana Cricket Board Under-17 Inter County Tournament and from a week’s pre-tournament camp appeared high in confidence and well prepared for their competitive regional encounter.
On Friday GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie and Territorial Development Officer Colin Stuart, met with players and their parents in which they encouraged them to make the best of this opportunity and to be good ambassadors of their country.
