New Mix Reform storms back to capture 60th Independence Dominoes crown

New Mix Reform produced a stirring comeback performance to claim the 60th Independence Dominoes Competition title on Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH), edging rivals Dominator and Spartans in a thrilling finale.
In a contest that kept spectators on edge, New Mix Reform finished atop the standings with 69 games, narrowly ahead of Spartans on 68, while Dominator ended on 67 in an incredibly tight finish.
At the midway stage, however, New Mix Reform appeared to be in serious trouble.
Trailing by 10 games with just 27 wins on the board, the eventual champions had plenty of work to do as Dominator led the charge with 36 games, while Spartans were also well positioned on 38.

But the turnaround that followed was nothing short of remarkable.
Digging deep in the latter stages, New Mix Reform mounted a relentless charge, steadily erasing the deficit before surging ahead when it mattered most to snatch the championship in dramatic fashion.
A standout performer in the finale was James Davidson, who delivered a commanding display by winning 14 games, the highest tally in the championship clash. Davidson’s consistency proved crucial to New Mix Reform’s comeback effort.
Meanwhile, in the closing rounds, the scores tightened significantly, with the decisive margins coming down to six, six, and four, highlighting just how fiercely contested the showdown was.
The Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr, in his closing remarks at the event, highlighted the Government’s interest in taking Dominoes to the “highest possible level”.
