Nial Smith impresses with wicket of Pollard in Central T20 Super League

Tucber Park and former Guyana Under-19 fast bowler, Nial Smith had a good showing Central T20 Super League (CSL). Smith bowled with venom against Kireon Pollard to take his team, Barrackpore United Sports Club to their second consecutive semi-final on Monday last. In the low-scoring T20 thriller, Barrackpore United scored 140 all out in 18.4 overs.

Jyd Goolie was the mainstay with a top-score of 56 from 42 balls. Bowling for Kieron Pollard’s Bamboo All Stars was Terrence Hinds who had 2-20 in three overs. In reply, Pollard and his team was bowled were restricted to 112-8 in 20 overs. Player of the match, Smith dominated the Trinidad and Tobago players with his top-spell of 3-18 from four overs.
Pollard who was surprised by the fierce Guyanese bowler, Smith hit 25 from 18 balls while Dave Samooj top-scored with 27 from 18 balls. Smith was the main reason in Barrackpore United Sports Club 28 run-win.
Smith has been on his quest playing cricket in Trinidad and Tobago and has been churning in some solid performances. Speaking to this reporter, Smith was explained that he was at his best bowling Yorkers consistently as the West Indies T20 Star, Pollard struggled to find his grove. When asked if there were nerves around, he added there was a bit but he kept focused and out the lights of Pollard. (Brandon Corlette)
