All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 emergency measures, which emphasise: the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home; the importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others; and the need for good hand-hygiene.
Government has allowed a grace period of up to November 30 to allow persons to return from overseas. However, after this has been expended, those who are partially vaccinated cannot enter the country.
Before travelling to Guyana, there must be proof of full vaccination and a negative SARS-CoV-2 antigen test, or a negative SARs-Cov-2 PCR test, which must not be older than 72 hours. Children under two years of age are not required to be tested.
Any mix-and-match combination of approved vaccines administered at seventeen days apart results in a person being fully vaccinated. Persons who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus fourteen days to three months ago are also considered fully vaccinated. (G12)
