No Police report of Crane teacher being abused by husband – Police Commander

As the police continue to hunt for the husband of 41-year-old Omega Ault, a school teacher whose decomposed body was found in her Crane, West Coast Demerara (WCD) home, Regional Commander Mahendra Siwnarine has confirmed that at no point in time was a report made against him for being abusive.

This now leaves many unanswered questions regarding why the suspect would want to kill the former Home Economics teacher and leave her body in the house for days.
Superintendent Siwnarine told Guyana Times on Saturday that after going through their records, they have not yet found any Police report that was made by the teacher against her husband, and they would continue to dig deep until they solve the case.
Attempts to speak with the siblings of the dead woman have proven futile. They have requested personal time to deal with the tragedy.
However, a friend of the dead teacher, when contacted, explained that Ault would normally complain about being verbally and emotionally abused by her husband, but at no time did she ever mention that she had been physically assaulted.
This friend also related that she had been trying to get in contact with the woman for days, but all her phone calls had gone unanswered – an unusual occurrence since, she related, they would video chat for hours.
She became worried and contacted the woman’s relatives to enquire about her whereabouts, but they also had not heard from the woman. “After I contacted her siblings, the brother decided to go to her house, where he made the gruesome discovery,” the friend stated.
Like the rest of Ault’s family members, she is still in a state of shock and disbelief, with questions only the woman’s husband, Clarence Farley, called “Junior”, can answer.
Police have reported that the woman’s brother, Kevin Ault, visited the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station on Friday and reported that, for the past two weeks, he had been calling his sister’s phone but was not getting through to her.
The man added that after calls to his sister had gone unanswered, he went to her home to check on her, and as he pushed open the front door to the house, he immediately got an unpleasant scent.
As he entered the front room, he saw his sister’s body lying in a state of decomposition. Reports are that the now dead woman had been living with her husband, Clarence Farley, called “Junior”, and their three-year-old son. The couple had been encountering ‘problems’ in their marriage, and it was reported that, four days prior to the discovery, Farley had taken their three-year-old son to the woman’s sister in Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD), and had left him there, claiming that he was heading into the backdam.
The mechanic has since not been seen or heard from, and late on Friday evening, the Police issued a wanted bulletin for his arrest.
Following the discovery, the scene at Crane was processed by Police investigators. The woman’s body was then taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home to await a Post Mortem.
