NTFGL Tour – Anand Persaud takes overall lead

The National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour Two continued in thrilling fashion on Sunday as golfers battled challenging wet conditions in another highly competitive round of play.
The tournament, proudly supported by Promotech Guyana Inc and Danny Auto Sales, once again showcased the growing competitiveness and excitement surrounding the league, with players producing impressive performances throughout the day. Despite persistent rain and soft course conditions, golfers embraced the challenge, with the longer hitters enjoying favourable scoring opportunities on the course.

Emerging as the standout performer of the day was Anand Persaud, who delivered a spectacular finish to claim both the Overall Championship title and Back Nine honours. Anand produced an exceptional gross 39 and net 31 on the back nine to finish with an outstanding net 66, securing maximum points for the round. His dominant performance now places him at the top of the NTFGL Tour Two standings with 18 overall points.
The front nine competition was equally intense, with Bala capturing front nine honours after carding an impressive net 34, narrowly edging several competitors who finished just one stroke behind.
Arnol Deo also delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall with a net 71 and collecting his first points of the season. Joseph Szeplaki secured third place after winning a tiebreaker against Balaji Vinjimoor at net 72, while Mohanlall Dindanauth rounded out the top performers with a consistent net 73 finish.

Maxim Mangra – 10 points
Videsh Persaud – 8 points
Mohanlall Dindanauth – 6 points
With several rounds still remaining, competition for the championship title remains wide open as players continue to battle for valuable league points.
The NTFGL continues to grow as one of Guyana’s premier amateur golf competitions, providing golfers with a platform to compete at a high level while fostering camaraderie and development within the local golf community.
As the league progresses, anticipation continues to build for the upcoming rounds, with players eager to close the gap on the leader-board and challenge for top honours.
