Government Medical Officer at the West Demerara Hospital, Dr Shemaine Anderson said several prenatal mothers benefitted from the initiative.
“We’re very much grateful here at West Demerara Regional Hospital that considerations are given to our mothers. We know even right now during the pandemic; things are difficult and these hampers go a far way in assisting our mothers in attending to their baby and the family as a whole.”
Over at the Georgetown Public Hospital, Nurse Althea Bristol expressed similar sentiments, noting that this will assist new mothers.
“It’s because it’s Mother’s Day and even though they’re not first-time mothers, it’s just the special feeling of being appreciated for giving birth. It’s to give back, and saying thank you to our society.”
