One Guyana T10 prize pool surpasses GY$8M ahead of 2026 tournament

Cash incentives for the fourth edition of the One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast have surpassed GY$8 million, as organisers move to further strengthen the grassroots tournament ahead of its 2026 staging.
The expanded prize structure will see increased rewards at both the zonal and national levels, with the overall champions now able to earn up to GY$2.5 million, while the runners-up will take home GY$1.5 million. Each zone winner will receive GY$500,000 and advance to the National Finals, where an additional GY$2 million will be awarded to the tournament winners and GY$1 million to the second-place finishers. The two losing semi-finalists at the National Finals will share GY$1 million.

Titans All-Stars will enter the competition as the two-time defending champions

In a new initiative aimed at broadening financial rewards, organisers have introduced pay-outs for quarter-finalists for the first time. Teams eliminated at that stage will receive GY$25,000 each, while losing semi-finalists at the zonal level will earn GY$50,000, and the losing finalist will collect GY$200,000.
Tournament Director John Ramsingh said the initiative continues to focus on rewarding players and teams at every stage of the competition, noting that the tournament now boasts one of the highest cash pay-outs in the Caribbean. He added that regional interest in participating continues to grow.
Individual performances will also attract significant rewards. The Most Valuable Player will receive GY$150,000 along with a motorbike, while the top run-scorer and leading wicket-taker will each earn GY$100,000 and a television. Additional prizes include GY$75,000 for the Player of the Final and GY$50,000 each for the best strike rate and best economy rate. Players leading in dot balls, sixes, and fours will also receive non-cash prizes.
Registration for the 80-team tournament is set to open in early May at a cost of GY$35,000 per team, with participants allowed to enter any of the four zones: Berbice, East Bank/West Demerara, Essequibo, and Georgetown/East Coast Demerara. The competition will retain its straight knockout format.
The tournament is scheduled to run from early August to mid-October, culminating in the National Finals at the Anna Regina National Stadium. Zone winners will also secure qualification for the upcoming Global T10 Tapeball tournament.
