Outdoor hockey returns this weekend

Hockey action will return to the Saint Stanislaus ground on Carifesta Avenue this weekend, when the Solo Drinks Under-20 and Bounty Paper Towels Second Division Outdoor Leagues are held, after a lengthy interruption owing to extended inclement weather.

Hockey action is expected to return in a matter of days

The tournament, which caters to over 15 local teams, will bully off on Saturday, and give players, both young and old, opportunity to sharpen their skills.
After Round 1 was completed earlier this year, SHC Savages currently sit at the top of the Second Division table with four wins from six games. GCC The Sequel also has 4 wins, but is second to SHC Savages based on goal difference. The current third place team on the lineup is YMCA Old Fort Aces, who also have wins, but their distinction lies in goal difference.
Meanwhile on the female side, Saints lead the women’s Second Division with three wins from three games. GBTI GCC is second place with two wins, and Bingo GCC Spartans complete the top three.
Over in the Under-20 Division, YMCA Old Fort Ballerz are sitting pretty at the top of the table with three wins from four games played. Also on three wins are the GCC Pitbulls. SHC Samurai follow close behind with two wins from their 4 games.
The female Division sees Bingo GCC Spartans leading the pack with an unblemished tournament thus far. Saints sit in the second position with two wins, while GCC Her-ricanes occupy the third position.
After months of just Indoor action, high quality play is expected when the tournament reconvenes on Saturday afternoon.
