The National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour Two teed off in impressive fashion at the Lusignan Golf Club, delivering high-level competition, dramatic finishes, and a strong statement of intent for the new season.
With the continued support of Gold Sponsor Promotech Guyana Inc and Silver Sponsor Danny Auto Sales, the league’s second tour opened under excellent course conditions, setting the stage for elite amateur golf. Despite the absence of several familiar contenders, the field was bolstered by emerging talent, adding a fresh dynamic to the competition.
Front Nine Action
Patanjilee “Per” Persaud established early control of the tournament with an impressive net 35 on the front nine, setting the pace and positioning himself as an early contender.
Back Nine Surge
The back nine saw intensified competition, with five players returning net 35s. However, Spencer Hutchings distinguished himself with a standout net 33, the best performance on the back stretch, securing a strong position on the leader-board.
Overall Results
The tournament culminated in a tightly contested finish between Rohan Albert and Vidish Persaud, both posting identical net scores of 70. The result was ultimately decided at the third level of tiebreakers, where Videsh Persaud delivered a composed finish, playing the final three holes at two under par to secure victory over Albert, who finished level over the same stretch.
The successful staging of the opening round underscores the growing stature of the NTFGL, with corporate support playing a pivotal role in elevating the standard and visibility of competitive golf in Guyana. With strong performances already recorded and rivalries beginning to take shape, the stage is set for an exciting continuation of Tour Two as players look to build momentum in the upcoming rounds.
