…Jumbo Jet extends gratitude to all involved
Zachary Persaud, Mikhail Persaud, William Vieira, Kristian Jeffrey and Paige Mendonca were some of the names that stood out on Sunday when the Jumbo Jet Events’ Nitro Kart Klash ignited the Guyana National Stadium tarmac, Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD), with millions in cash and prizes on the line.
When the dust settled at the National Stadium, many competitors were left smiling.
The action-packed day of racing got underway at 11:00h and featured several memorable classes of action, as it wove its way under the lights.

Snagging the biggest prize of them all – the Banks DIH Briggs and Stratton Senior Light trophy – and the accompanying $1 million first prize was Zachary Persaud.
Persaud won the final of the class after surviving severe pressure from Justin Ten Pow after an early three-way collision demoted Calvin Ming to the rear of the pack.
The second step of the rostrum was filled by Steven Nobrega, who bagged $200,000 with Mendonca finishing third and collecting $100,000.
Earlier in heat 1, Persaud finished ahead of Ming and Matthew Phang, with the prize breakdown being $500,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively, with the top two reversed for heat two and Justin Ten Pow third.
In the Forrester’s Lumber and Construction Complex Briggs and Stratton Senior Heavy Finals, Mikhail Persaud ascended to the top of the podium, followed by Jeremy Ten Pow and Jhon Mohamed respectively. For his efforts, Mikhail Persaud bagged $300,000, with Jeremy Ten Pow pocketing $100,000 and Mohamed $65,000.

In the earlier heat one, Jeremy Ten Pow got the better of Mikhail Persaud, with Andre Rochford finishing third for the $150,000, $50,000, $30,000 prize split while the same breakdown applied to heat two when the top two were reversed and Jhon Mohamed finished third.
In the J’s Supermarket Briggs and Stratton Female class, there were three wins on the night for Mendonca with $200,000 for each of the two heat wins and $400,000 for the win in the final. Malicia Lawrence was second on all three occasions, earning $75,000 for each of the two heats, and $150,000 for the final. Mikelly Rahaman bagged $100,000 for her third spot in the final.
The Briggs and Stratton Juniors saw Adam Mohamed win the first heat ahead of Jhonatan Sooknanan for $200,000 and $75,000. In heat two, Shaun Bhoodoo beat both Adam Mohamed and Sooknanan into second and third respectively with the prize money split being the same and third place getting $50,000. In the final, Bhoodoo returned to grab another win and the $400,000 first prize, with Matthew Daby second ($150,000) and Adam Mohamed third ($100,000).
The SVC Inc Briggs and Stratton Cadet class was swept by William Vieira, who bagged both heats at $200,000 and the final at $400,000 while Asrudeen Mohamed bagged $75,000 each for the two heats and $150,000 for the final. Nathan Seejattan finished third in the first heat for $50,000, with Gavriel Gayadin claiming the spot in the second heat. Seejattan returned to take the final podium spot and $100,000 in the grand finale.
In the Rookies Over 35, Jhon Mohamed won the first heat of the day, securing $125,000 ahead of Badesh Thakur ($30,000) and Rochford ($20,000). Heat two had the positions for top two reversed with Thakur winning the $125,000 and Mohamed settling for second ($30,000), with Suren Seuchand third ($20,000). In the final, Thakur was able to secure the $250,000 first prize ahead of Rochford ($65,000) and Seuchand ($35,000).
The Triple J Construction IAME X30 had Jeffrey take the first win of the day ahead of Justin Ten Pow and Ming, with the trio pocketing $100,000, $40,000 and $25,000 respectively. Heat two saw the top two reversing their order to stave off Ming for the same earnings. In the final, Jeffrey got the one up on Ten Pow for the $200,000 first prize, with $80,000 going to the latter and Ming bagging $50,000.
In the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales Honda GX200 Class, Naresh Alves took the top spot off Zachary Persaud and Aqueel Edwards in heat one, with $150,000, $50,000 and $30,000 for the top three; with the same order and payout for heat two. In the final, Zachary Persaud got the better of Alves for the $300,000 payout while Alves was forced to settle for the $100,000 second place payout and Zaferio Rameriez pocketed $65,000.
In the Chung’s Global Junior Super Moto 125cc, Lashon Lewis snagged both wins on the day, with $50,000 for heat two and $100,000 for the final, while Joshua Holder was second in both the heat and the final for $25,000 and $50,000 respectively. Troquille Sealy picked up third in the second heat for $25,000.
In the Mohamed’s Excavating and Construction race, Jeremy Ten Pow made a clean sweep, bagging $150,000 each for the two heat wins and $300,000 for the win in the final. Phang finished second in heat one where he earned $50,000, with Andrew Jordan’s third granting him $30,000. Heat two saw Jordan move one step up for the $50,000 second prize, with Ravi Singh making the podium while the final was a blueprint of the second heat, with the earnings being split $300,000, $100,000 and $65,000.
The VALS Construction Open time attack saw two wins by Ming, with one second each for Rayden Persaud and Justin Ten Pow.
The 555 Speedway Rental Kart race was won by Arif Mohamed, with Rovin Sookraj second and Akeem Semple third.
The Jumbo Jet Events Committee, in a statement on Tuesday, thanked all the entities, sponsors, racers and fans that made the 2026 Nitro Kart Klash the success that it was:

“Our racers, the event would not be possible without you. The time, work and effort put into getting your machines to the line is not undervalued in any way and always value your support. To the fans and sponsors, your support has been invaluable in every way, shape and form. A big thank you from the team.”
According to the entity, the transformed National Stadium parking lot hosted a show for thousands of spectators both in person and online for the Sunday, April 19 event.
